TYPES OF SCOOTERS
TRANSPORTABLE SCOOTERS:
Mobility Scooters usually break up into a few manageable parts. Their tyres are solid & puncture proof.
Most also have easily removable battery packs which can then be taken inside the house or other location for charging.
These type of scooter are ideal for travelling as most airlines will take them for free (please check with your carrier) also for day trips and visiting as they fit in any size car.
MEDIUM SIZE SCOOTERS:
These are larger in size. They offer greater comfort and have a greater range of features.
They are generally stored in a garage, or even outside provided they are covered.
These will be capable of 4mph and have a range of 15-25 miles.
LARGE CLASS 3 SCOOTERS:
These are classed as road going scooters. These have a maximum speed of either 6 or 8mph and are the largest and least transportable type of scooter, they also offer the greatest level of comfort.
They are fully road legal and have the greatest travelling range of any mobility scooter 20 to 35 miles and a Top speed of 8mph, and can carry a maximum weight of 25 stones.
Note: These are the only machines that need to be registered with the DVLA as they are capable of speeds over 4mph but not in excess of 8mph.
We will complete all of the necessary paperwork and you will receive a tax disc the same as you would have on any car, this will need to be displayed on your machine.
This tax disc is free of charge.
